Hey there, Trail Stewards
We hope you can join our next monthly trail workday in the McKay Community Forest!
Saturday, Nov. 2nd
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 AM sharp to collect tools & supplies while reviewing workday guidelines before we head out on the trails.
We work rain or shine and are seeing “sunshine with a few clouds” along with a high of 58 degrees forecasted for this Saturday. It’s a tricky time of year with the weather, but a bit of rain won’t deter us! Let’s make the most of this beautiful season, before winter hits!
General Volunteering Guidelines:
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by Humboldt County and VTS.
Many thanks to all, see you on the trails!
