VTS Workday: McKay Community Forest
September 2 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Greetings, Trail Stewards
We hope you can join our next monthly trail workday at the McKay Community Forest this Saturday, September 2nd from 9 a.m. – noon.
For this workday we’ll focus on rocking the last 20 cubic yards of the Huckleberry Loop. Once finally completed, we’ll have a fully-functioning ADA accessible trail! There are plenty of tools for all and lunch will be provided around noon. Feel free to stay for as long as you’d like, and bring a friend along too! We’re always welcoming more to join the crew!
We’ll meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9 a.m.
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally). Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available to all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by the county and VTS.
