The Volunteer Trail Stewards provide “eyes and ears” presence on designated trails, report observations and trail maintenance issues, perform basic litter collection and participate in maintenance work days. VTS are Humboldt Trails Council volunteers.

Arcata Community Forest Trails – Volunteer work days are the 4th Saturday of every month, except December. Meeting locations TBA. Contact Rees at Hughes@humboldt.edu,
Chah GAH Cho Trail – The McKinleyville Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, holds volunteer days for the Chah GAH Cho trail on the 3rd Saturday of alternate months. Meet at the trail located at the south end of the Mill Creek Cinema parking lot. Contact Steffen at email@example.com to get involved.
Eureka Wharf Trail (‘C’ St to Del Norte St) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Sunday of every month, 9am – 11am. Meet at the Wharfinger Building parking lot. There are also additional volunteer work opportunities. Contact Gail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Freshwater Farms Reserve Nature Trail (5851 Myrtle Ave, Freshwater, just south of the barn) – The Northcoast Regional Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, holds periodic volunteer days. Contact Karlee at email@example.com.
Hammond Trail (Arcata Bottoms to Clam Beach, McKinleyville) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Saturday of every month (except January), 9am-11am. Meeting locations TBA. Contact Stacy at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hikshari’ Trail (Eureka’s Truesdale St. to Elk River Park & Ride) – Volunteer work days are the 2nd Saturday of every month, 9am-11am. Contact Mark at email@example.com
