The Volunteer Trail Stewards provide “eyes and ears” presence on designated trails, report observations and trail maintenance issues, perform basic litter collection and participate in maintenance work days. VTS are Humboldt Trails Council volunteers.

Arcata Community Forest Trails – Volunteer work days are the 4th Saturday of every month, except December. Meeting locations TBA. Contact Rees at Hughes@humboldt.edu,
Chah GAH Cho Trail – The McKinleyville Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, schedules volunteer workdays. Contact the McKinleyville Land Trust here to get involved.
Eureka Waterfront Trail North (Tydd St. to Adorni Center) – Volunteer work days are the 3rd Saturday of every month, 9am to 11am. Meet at the foot of X street in front of the Blue Ox Mill. Contact Dennis at dbhedm@gmail.com or Pam at pamnted@gmail.com
Eureka Wharf Trail (‘C’ St to Del Norte St) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Sunday of every month, 9am – 11am. Meet at the Wharfinger Building parking lot. There are also additional volunteer work opportunities. Contact Gail at gailpopham@gmail.com.
Freshwater Farms Reserve Nature Trail (5851 Myrtle Ave, Freshwater, just south of the barn) – The Northcoast Regional Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, holds periodic volunteer days. Contact Matt here.
Hammond Trail (Arcata Bottoms to Clam Beach, McKinleyville) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Saturday of every month (except January), 9am-11am. Meeting locations TBA. Contact Stacy at sbecker@reninet.com
Hikshari’ Trail (Eureka’s Truesdale St. to Elk River Park & Ride) – Volunteer work days are the 2nd Saturday of every month, 9am-11am. Contact Mark at hikshari@humtrails.org
