Salutations, Trail Stewards
Sending out a quick reminder about our monthly volunteer trail workday in the McKay Community Forest. We hope you can join us this coming weekend:
Saturday, June 1st
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 AM to collect tools & supplies while touching base on workday guidelines before we head out on the trails.
We work rain or shine – and are currently looking at a “partly sunny” forecast with a high of 60 degrees.
General Volunteering Guidelines:
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by Humboldt County and VTS.
See you on the trail!
