VTS Workday: McKay Community Forest

April 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

🌿 Spring Greetings, Trail Stewards 🌿

It’s almost time for our monthly volunteer workday in the McKay Community Forest! We hope you can join us this weekend:

Saturday, April 6th
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

📍Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 AM to collect tools & supplies and discuss workday guidelines before heading out on the trails.

🌦️ We plan to work rain or shine – We’re looking at a high of 55 degrees with a moderate chance of rain, so plan to bring your rain gear!

General Volunteering Guidelines:

Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).

Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.

All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.

All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by Humboldt County and VTS.

As per usual, we’ll have a hearty, wholesome lunch ready to go by noon! Thanks all!

See you on the trail! 🌲
