Dear Trail Stewards,
I hope everyone enjoys the sunshine, and is looking forward to our upcoming trail workday in the McKay Community Forest!
For our Saturday, March 1st monthly workday we will be trail rocking the Bob Hill Gulch Trail at Northridge, followed by an amazing fresh-cooked lunch! It may be a cloudy morning, and a possibly wet afternoon — but we will be working rain or shine! So join your fellow VTS friends, and don’t miss out on the good time!
Volunteer Trail Stewards
monthly trail workday in the McKay:
Saturday, March 1st
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 AM sharp. After sign-in, we’ll review workday guidelines, gather tools and supplies, and then head to the specified work location(s).
Volunteering Guidelines:
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, sturdy boots, and bring a small day pack for carrying their own snacks and water; as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (0.5 mi to 2 mi).
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5 mins early so that enough tools and food can be supplied for all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by Humboldt County and VTS.

See you on the trails!
-Rachael Garcia
