VTS Workday: McKay Community Forest

Hello Trail Warriors,
It’s time again for our monthly volunteer workday in the McKay Community Forest! We hope you can join us this weekend:
Saturday, Feb. 3rd
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
For this workday we’ll be rocking a fresh new stretch of trail! We’re also very excited to partner with the Redwood Coast Mt. Bike Association for this event and look forward to building even stronger connections within our trail community. These invaluable connections and community efforts are truly what make building these trail networks possible — we really couldn’t do it without each and every one of you! Thank you for making a positive difference in our community forest!
Please know we work rain or shine – The weather forecast shows a high of 51 degrees with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon, it’s always good to wear layers and bring rain gear.
General Volunteering Guidelines:
Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.
All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by Humboldt County and VTS.
