VTS Workday: McKay Community Forest

Greetings, Trail Stewards 
We hope you can join our next monthly trail workday at the McKay Community Forest!
Saturday, Nov. 4th
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
For this workday we’ll be rocking a new trail section on the east side of Redwood Acres. We’ll meet at the storage container at Redwood Fields at 9 a.m. to go over the workday logistics and to gather tools, supplies, and snacks before heading out to the trail site. Lunch will be provided by noon!
We’ll be working rain or shine! The weather forecast is cloudy with a moderate chance of rain showers by the afternoon, so plan to bring your rain gear! 
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. The trail site is located near the plant nursery greenhouses at Redwood Acres. Enter Gate #3 and turn left after the first building. We will provide detailed directions and help direct vehicles to park. *Please meet at the storage container at Redwood Fields at 9 a.m. so that we have an accurate headcount, all are aware of the workday plans, and tools & supplies are secured for all volunteers!*
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by the county and VTS.
