Happy October, Trail Stewards
We hope you can join our next monthly trail workday at the McKay Community Forest!
Saturday, Oct. 7th
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
For this workday we’ll finish rocking the final stretch of the Huckleberry Loop, bringing this fully functional ADA-accessible trail to completion! There are plenty of tools and supplies available, and lunch will be provided by noon.
We’ll be working rain or shine! The weather forecast reads a high of 58 degrees with some clouds and sunshine.
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten,
at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at
9:00 a.m. to collect tools and discuss workday specifics before heading out to the trail.
- Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 5-10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available for all.
- All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
- All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by the county and VTS.
Thanks everyone,
I look forward to seeing you on the trail!
