Dear Esteemed Volunteers,
Next work day comes two days after the summer solstice, Saturday, June 22, 9 am – 12 (noon). We’ll be meeting and working in the general vicinity of Redwood Park and adjacent trails. We will clear the trail between 11th Street and the Park and the access trail from 14th and Union to the Park. We will remove Scotch broom along Fickle Hill Road and clean Trail #18. There is always ivy to be removed and we may do a sweep along Trails #1 and #2 for trash as well. Plenty to be done. You may be interested in the makeover of the play area and the addition of the pump track that just officially opened on June 3rd.
Here’s where we’ll meet for those of you not familiar with the area:
We will work rain or shine. Please wear work clothes, bring work gloves if you have them, and a water bottle. I’m going to reinstitute the sandwich bar for lunch.
Let me know if you have any questions and it is always helpful to have you RSVP to me (
hughes@humboldt.edu) so that I can better plan tasks, tools, and food.
I hope to see you on the 22nd.
Rees
