VTS Workday: Arcata Community Forest

Dear Fantastic Volunteers,
We are going to be working in the Shay Park area for our work day this Saturday — Saturday, April 27, 9 am – 12 (noon). We’ll be picking up trash, weed eating and mowing the grass growth, clipping blackberry growth and removing invasives, and more. Should be more than enough for everyone! With all of this sunshine recently, all the vegetation is growing like crazy. And, as you know, we work rain or shine.
I am going to be away but Rachael and George Ziminsky will be present as will a City staff person.
Another consequence of my absence is that we will have packaged snacks and no sandwich bar (admittedly, ‘sandwich bar’ sounds a little fancy for what I usually provide).
I encourage you to bring your own gloves and water . . . and parking is often complicated here. The best options are on the north side of Foster but those are limited (see the map above).
It is nice to know how many volunteers are coming so that we can better prepare tasks and tools. It would be great if you RSVP to Rachael at vtscoordinator@humtrails.org.
