VTS Workday: Arcata Community Forest

Happy March to all of you,
Our next work day is scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd, beginning at 9 am. We are going to focus on the north end of the Arcata Ridge Trail and the South Fork of Janes Creek Loop Trail. We will clip and weed whack the trail between the trailhead and the bridged crossing of South Fork Janes Creek, pick up trash around the trailhead, clean the bridges and sections of the trail with a build-up of duff, remove invasives, and more. There will be something for everyone to do. I will have sandwich makings for lunch.
I encourage you to bring your own gloves (I’ll have some extra gloves) and water . . . we’ll meet behind the Alves, Inc. operation off of West End Road. I will put the sandwich board up at the turn. Follow the road through the Alves yard and continue straight until you emerge in a clearing. The map below will help you visualize where we will be. Let me know if you need more directions. We will have more parking and be less disturbed here than at the trailhead.
