VTS Workday: Arcata Community Forest

Dear Wonderful Volunteers,

Saturday, November 25th, is our final Arcata VTS workday of 2023 (we don’t work in December).  This will be an opportunity to work off some of the excesses of Thanksgiving so I do hope you will join us.  Bring along visiting family and friends too. We will be focusing on the Bay Trail North with some spillover onto Arcata Marsh trails.   We will meet at 9 am and the current plan is to conclude with sandwiches for lunch.

We will be picking up trash along the length of the trail, draining some of the puddles on Marsh trails, clipping back blackberry and fennel growth, doing some mowing and weed whacking. As always, there is plenty to do as we prepare for winter.

I encourage you to bring your own gloves (I’ll have some extra gloves) and water . . . we’ll meet, as usual, in the small lot near the City of Arcata ‘Corporation’ Yard. We do work rain or shine.  See the map below.  Let me know if you need more directions.
