Wigi Wetlands VTS Workday

Hey everyone,
Just a quick reminder that our Wigi Wetland volunteer workday will be this Saturday, the 24th from 9 to 11am. We’ll meet at our usual spot behind Walmart at the Bayshore Mall. Here are things on the possible docket for Saturday: weeding around the natives we’ve planted and pulling any scotch broom/pampas grass that is growing back in the meadow, removing fennel and blackberry from the trail, pulling scotch broom growing back close to the bay, picking up trash, and hauling out the rest of the Spartina that was excavated. Definitely enough to keep us busy for the day. It may or may not be a little rainy (who knows what’ll change in the next few days), so be sure to dress for success.
Some of our lovely volunteers were out at Wigi and noticed that the natives could use some water. I plan on bringing as much as I can, but I’m not sure it’ll be enough. If you plan on coming and could bring any amount of water for those thirsty plants it would be super duper appreciated.
