Wharf Trail VTS Workday
March 6 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Greetings Wharf Trail VTS! New and old, frequent and infrequent volunteers are always welcome!
Look for the Volunteer Trail Stewards Sign!
For our March 6th Wharf Trail VTS Workday we have several options available:
If you want to dig dirt; there are areas along the curb across from Costco that need to be leveled-off a bit and have the excess soil moved into nearby low spots — the riding mower often gets stuck in these areas.
If you want to haul Pampas grass; across from the Wharfinger Building, in the fenced Clark Slough area, you can haul Pampas grass clumps down to the green waste pile at the south end of the slough.
If you want to dig weeds, you can dig up fennel, Himalayan blackberry, and wild onion roots along the banks of Clark Slough.
If you want to pick up litter, there is always a need for that.
The Weather forecast for Sunday is a mostly Sunny, with a high near 51.
We are following COVID-19 safety measures:
Attend ONLY if you are fully COVID-19 Vaccinated
If you don’t feel well, don’t come;
Bring your own water, an assortment of snacks & beverages will be available;
We have gloves if you need them;
Wear a mask within 6 feet of others;
Remain 6 feet apart whenever possible;
As always, VTS recognize that the trail is open to the public and will allow > 6 foot distance between volunteers and trail users.
A handful of Wharf Trail VTS volunteers often meet and do more trail work on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 9:00-11:00 AM. If volunteering on one of those days appeals to you, let me know (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
