Dear Trail Stewards,
Our next monthly volunteer workday on Saturday, Aug. 3rd will mark our 2-year anniversary of trail-building in the McKay Community Forest! We’ll be working from 9 AM – 12 PM, then we’ll celebrate during lunchtime with BBQ ribs, veggie options, and other yummy treats! Regulars, new-comers, and those we’ve been missing — We hope to see you all there!
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the parking lot at 9:00 AM to collect tools & supplies while overviewing workday plans before we head out on the trails. It’s anticipated that we’ll be working on the Lower Redwood Acres Loop Trail for the morning, and there is no rain on the radar.
Many thanks to the 14 volunteers who joined along with Girl Scouts Troop # 90062 last month, as well as the 18 volunteers who teamed up with the Redwood Empire Endurance Riders at our June workday! Another HUGE shout-out to the Tues/Weds Delta Force volunteers! You all (seriously) rock!!
We’d also like to thank each of our incredible Community Partner Groups who’ve come out as a collective to provide a tremendous amount of support to volunteer crews at each of the monthly trail workdays that we’ve had so far this year:
Thank you for your time and energy helping to build sustainable trail networks and enhance public access to this very-loved community forest, where you are paving the way for all ages and abilities to enjoy for generations to come. Where resources and funding may be limited, we are holding it all together as a strong-hearted community and an everlasting force of positive change.. Simply stated, these trails could not be as they are today without your support!
Thanks again, everyone. I hope to see you this Saturday!
