It was so nice to see some of you at the Volunteer Appreciation Day. Although I think the work we do brings us a sense of satisfaction for being able to do our part, it is always nice to hear somebody say “Thank you”.
Although I will be on the road yet again, there is plenty to do, and I’m going to just cut and paste Mark’s suggestions:
“For next workday on the 14th, I’d like to focus on cutting back the weeds along the trails, especially at the north and south end, and especially the radish and fennel that are going to seed. Not too worried about bringing out the cut weeds, just getting them cut down and away from the trail. The south end past the railroad crossing is the worst bit for weeds growing into the path, so it would be nice to have a few people cut stuff back from there.
Other than that, there’s the usual trash patrol around the parking areas, and probably more blackberries to cut back from the trail in the wooded section south of the Hilfiker parking lot.”
See you all in October!
