When:
Weekly on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, starting October 18th, 2024
Where:
Sunnybrae Community Forest, Margaret St. Entrance, at the bottom of the stairs. See star on
the attached map. We will leave from the meeting place at 9:05 AM. No one will be stationed at
the meeting place to greet volunteers who arrive after that time.
What:
We will be eradicating pampas grass, Scotch broom, and invasive ivy, as well as other invasive plants. What we focus on can be subject to change on a particular day based on the interests of volunteers. Within the next year, we intend to take out the two large pampas grass clusters nearest the entrance, and the fruiting invasive tree ivy near the park border.
Tools, gloves, and light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Be sure and bring enough water, as we will often be hiking at least a mile round trip.
