Volunteer Event Clearing Fruiting Invasive Ivy in the McKay Community Forest
When:
Sunday August 25, 2024, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where:
McKay Community Forest in Myrtletown. We will be meeting at the south end of Pleasant Ave. in Myrtletown (note there is coincidentally another Pleasant Ave. in Eureka/Cutten). See star on map.
A table will be set up where you will check in and be given work gloves and tools.
What to bring:
Thick clothing, long sleeve shirt and pants. We will provide gloves and tools, but bring any you’d prefer to use.
Tasks:
Girdling fruiting invasive ivy in trees with pruning saws and hand axes.
Digging out medium sized English holly with shovels and pickaxes.
We will have refreshments.
