McKay Community Forest Workday
November 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Since volunteers began working on the trail network emanating from the Northridge parking lot (and trailhead) in the McKay Community Forest in mid-August, lots of progress has been made. But with 31 miles of trails to complete, there is plenty to be done. With the fall and winter rains soon upon us, there is a sense of urgency to get as much accomplished now as possible.
On Saturday, November 5th, volunteers will meet at Redwood Fields, at the east end of Fern Street in Cutten. See the map for the meeting location (the star marks the spot). We gather at 9 am and go until noon, when lunch will be provided.
No trail experience is required and there will be work for everybody no matter what your skill and energy level. Bring work gloves if you have them (we have a supply if you don’t), wear work clothes, and closed-toed shoes. We encourage people to bring their own water.
If you are unable to join us on November 5th, consider coming to one of our Tuesday and Wednesday work days. We meet at the same spot at 9 am and tend to go longer (but we will take what we can get). We work every Tuesday and Wednesday and provide lunch.
If you have questions, contact Dennis Houghton (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Rees Hughes (email@example.com). Come join us.
