Hello, Trail Stewards!
We are looking forward to our upcoming Saturday workday, for several reasons:
1) We get to spend time with you to improve trail conditions,
2) Work options are numerous and varied,
3) There is a chance it may rain (very desirable during these dry times),
4) COFFEE IS BACK!! Humboldt Bay Coffee has once again generously offered to donate their delicious brew to our workday 🙂
Bring your own cup (we’ll provide half and half)
Here are the relevant details:
WHEN: Saturday, September 18 from 9-11 am
WHERE: Meet at the foot of X St. at the intersection with 1st St. (in front of the Blue Ox Millworks)
WHAT: Our focus work area will be the trail adjacent to the Arkley field, starting at the Wiyot interpretive sign/seats/mural and extending south to the slant bridge.
We will be removing non-native vegetation (pampas grass, fennel, etc.), restoring the line of sight from the sign to the bay, and picking up trash. There will be a few weed eaters and hand trimmers available for use. We have gloves and safety equipment as well. If you prefer to use your own, please come prepared.
HOW: Bring a mask for our initial meeting and times when proximity deems it necessary.
We will provide water, juice and snacks. AND COFFEE!!!
WHY: Because we love making positive changes to the trail and working with kindred spirits!
We’ll see you on Saturday!
Pam and Dennis
