Dear Faithful Volunteers,
We’ll be working on the Bay Trail North again. I just walked it last week and was surprised at the level of vegetation growth that has occurred.
We will again run two mowers the length of the trail to Two Rocks, do some weed eating, tackle that patch of Scotch Broom, remove seed heads from fennel, pick up trash . . . Plenty for everyone.
As usual we will start at 9 am and finish about noon. Bring your own water, I’ll have packaged snacks, and my usual supply of gloves (for those who need a pair). We’ll work rain or shine (wouldn’t it be nice to work in the rain).
We will meet at the parking area just north of the entrance to the City of Arcata Corporation Yard on South G Street (see map below).
Given the disconcerting spike in COVID-19 numbers in the County, we want to be extra careful.
I am going to ask people to RSVP again (firstname.lastname@example.org)
to help me plan although I won’t be able to respond until around September 19.
It is essential that you wear a mask and social distance. Please do not come if you are not vaccinated
(let me know if there is a reason I should make an exception for you). I will provide packaged snacks, have hand sanitizer, and have my usual supply of gloves. I would encourage you to bring water. Of course, don’t attend if you are not feeling well.
I hope to see many of you on the 25th! Thanks! Questions welcome . . .
