The Arcata Forest Fund Committee has been working on raising funds for the purchase of key parcels between the Arcata and Sunny Brae Community Forests providing permanent protection of open space, timber resources and watershed values, wild life habitat, corridors and access for recreation. When complete, the four mile long Arcata Ridge Trail will connect the Arcata and Sunny Brae Community Forests together and beyond to West End Road. Donations are held in the Arcata Forest Fund at Humboldt Area Foundation. The Arcata Forest Fund provides a source for private donations to assist the City of Arcata in purchasing land adjacent to Arcata Community Forest and Sunny Brae Forest. Private contributions help the City by providing leverage for Federal, State and non-profit foundation grant funds.

Bat N' Rouge is a fun-filled softball game which twists traditional softball and adds a dose of glitter and glamour!

Prepare yourself for a wondrous night of Sister magic as we drag local “notables” to face-off (face-on?) against the OUTfielders, our local LGBT softball team. The Rutabaga Queens are umpiring the event, and at half-time get a bite to eat and enjoy a performance by the Va Va Voom Burlesque Vixens. As a collaborative effort between the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the City of Arcata and many wonderful community members, Bat N’ Rouge is brought to you with joy. Sisters are joining us from around the world to share in our inclusive ritual. Bring a blanket or lawn chair if you're getting a "Grass Seat", bring the kids to play in games in our “kid’s area,” and bring a smile to this unforgettable extravaganza sponsored by Good Relations, the Arcata Exchange, Lost Coast Brewery, The Arcata Eye and Lost Coast Communications. Food and beverages will be available for purchase provided by the RAVEN Project and proceeds go to benefit the program.

Bat N' Rouge has been planned and implemented across the United States for years--creating awareness and raising funds for many non-profits.
